At the risk of confirming the views of certain people that we’re a really weird, co-dependent cult, I just wanted to apologise for my recent near-absence from posting and commenting, both here and over on the Mothership. I have not done those things that I ought to have done, and there is no health in me… I miss you all, and I really feel I’m missing out on new music and intelligent conversation, but I have this wretched book to finish, and another 50,000 or so words to churn out before the end of the month, and so I really can’t afford either the time or the mental energy. Will be back, I hope, early in April, not least to write a proper review of the new Trwbador album, but for the moment here’s their forthcoming single…
Hi Abahachi ! ! !
Good luck with your book, I wonder if I will find it in the romance section of my local book shop soon ! ! !
Life gets in the way sometimes so of course we all understand, but I am sure we are all looking forward to seeing you back again soon ! ! !
Hi Aba,
you have my sympathies: 50,000 words in the next three weeks puts my deadlines in perspective!
See you soon!
50,000 or so words to churn out before the end of the month
Couldn’t we all club together? Put me down for 50 or 60 if that helps. I don’t even need to know the topic because when I write stuff no one really knows what I’m on about so in that setting they’ll think it’s profound.
All the best with the deadline Abahachi. Not sure I could read 50k words in that time let alone think and write them.
Best of luck with it Prof, am a bit snowed under with year end stuff myself, so you have my sympathies.
Very sweet of you all. At the end of week 1 (effectively), I’m up to 11,000 polished and coherent words and another 5,000 that will make some sort of sense once I’ve put in extra words, like verbs and stuff, so feeling quite positive about things. As I remarked on Twitter/Facebook, the important thing is to get myself into the state of mind where I remember that I actually want to write this damned book, even if no one out there is terribly interested in reading it, and I know more about this subject than anyone else so can probably get away with a lot…
