…and I think to myself….

Do you ever get those WTF moments that just make you stop for a second and marvel at the diverse and interconnected world we are lucky enough to live in?

Don’t you just love living in a world where a 7 year old kid in Finland can start recording music on his dad’s iPhone in “Finnish, English and Gibberish”, get it released on CD, played on the radio by a DJ in New York, whose show is downloaded by an Englishman in Japan, who then Spills it to the world on a UK-based website to listen to on their computers or generic MP3 devices wherever they may be?!

Sounds a bit like Boards of Canada to me….

  1. Foreign influence!!!. Nay! Sounds like the child’s been exposed to Mono Junk, Mr Velcro Fastener, Imatran Voima, Huoratron, Markus *Captain’ Kaarlonen, Lau Nau, Kuupuu, Eero Johannes, Arch of Neo, Paperfangs, Phantom and Barry Andrewsin Disko, ES… Made a few best of lists did Eelis. The future is safe.

      • Absolutely, I wrote that list then went away thinking how incomplete it was. Have I ever recommended Heroin And Your Veins. (The band not the act of…) Not got the electro sound but my current obsession.

Time to go back to some more traditional romance. Cheerio.

      • I like that a lot…it was way too short though, it was just getting going…will investigate further…cheers!

  2. hey panther – do hope you are getting a decent playlist sorted for your 7th anniversary tomorrow. My computer has to go in to have it’s hard drive replaced – so the Ms. is going to have to listen to an old skool pile of 7″ records – for our 10th – one of us, at least, will be very happy.

she’s ever so slightly worried if I will cope – not being electronically connected to the world .. anyway, your write up of this reminded me of this tune from 2000 – and that in turn reminded me of RR indie disco perfect nominator in the extreme Tracy (who I’m connected to on facebook).. what an odd world we live in:

clint boon experience – white no sugar

  3. I’m still in touch with Tracy too. When we had the first Northern social, one of Tracy’s friends came along and acquired enough Dutch courage on the malt whisky I’d taken along that she propositioned a boy she fancied and they are now married with a child. Tracy credits me with Cupid-like powers!.
