Dunno about that first set, maybe it’s me. But i’m thinkig bells are best used in extreme moderation? Liked the Fluke though.
Second set was lovely. Actually liked the Coldplay although i didn’t know the original. Merz was lovely, and Her Space Holiday and Beta Band were drop dead gorgeous.
Thanks Shoey!
Heh, got a bit carried away with the banging stuff. Wanted to throw in some Test Dept., but couldn’t find the particular racket I was looking for.
It may be me (and my age….and too many year with too loud amplifiers) but this could be called Tinnitus Tunes, no? Has the phrase “more cowbell” (originally from a SNL skit, I think) made it across the pond?
Yes, yes & you can call it what you like in appreciation of giving them a whirl. You may get something more or less soothing next time – depends on the theme & my mood.
Not sure – as suspect we are on the same pondside. Cheers.
I’m in agreement with amylee on the second set. I also liked the first a lot. Fini Tribe was great and that was a better version of Bellhead than I nommed. I was bopping away to Chime when the new and drop dead gorgeous intern walked in. I noticed she started to sway involuntary to the beat. That rung my bell a lot.
Cheers, Fuel. Being a bellend & missed your Bellhead – have a belated ‘Spill dond.
Cheers. I wasn’t really paying much attention this week either (even forgot to mention that “Time” was by Easy Star All-Stars). Thought blackshadow would’ve nommed Liquid Liquid, but it was left to me. Just been listening to Glass Teeth’s “Flesh Palace and Jah Wobble’s “Songs of Innocence” and I could have nommed both of them. Will get some Tenhi to you this weekend but mIght have to balance the baritone with some “out there” female folk music.
ace sets – both one and two.
brakes and her space holiday being two of my all time favourite producers of sound.
Strangely I have a tape of the finitribe album (noise lust fun) sitting on my desk ready for me to look up the band on the b side (Club De Rome – French electronic band from the same era – their record label Lively Art – used to send us shed loads of stuff to review)
anyway – I enjoyed clocks edit too – but I found this funny:
Clocks – the daily mash
Most of my Finitribe was lost in the great vinyl disaster of ’02 – don’t think I knew C de R.
Shame about BBC 6, but that was a funny piece. Poor Coldplay – they really are poster boys for the uncool.
