Dancing , of any form, is as alien to me as deep sea diving.
Can’t do it, won’t do it but I have to say that I admire a “good” dancer.
I’d just like to share a couple that I came across yesterday with everyone.
They are both from Japan ( shock !) and really , I think, rather special.
First up World Order- Permanent Revolution.
and secondly Kyary Pamyu Pamyu- Furisodeshon ( I think !)
This one, I think, is really rather interesting as Kyary appears to be drinking rather a lot in the video, very unusual for a Japanese lady as far as I can tell with my limited experience of such things .
Perhaps a Japanese reader could enlighten me as to whether this is as unusual as I think it is.

Those were a bit twee, Pairubu. Ok Go’s dance routine was more to my personal liking:
Hi Richard ! ! !
That was a nice video ! ! !
Of course the most famous dance video by a Japanese artist is DJ Ozma and the Drinking Boys – Fan Dance . . . . Do you know it ? ? ?
well, that was unusual!
Oh yes, I remember that one, very good.
What’s wrong with twee ?
Hi Mr P ! ! !
I really like both the tracks and the videos ! ! ! I like World Order a lot actually, I think they are an interesting group ! ! !
Genki Sudo is the founder of the band and he is devout Buddhist and former champion pro Martial Arts Fighter. He is also an author and essayist and has written eight books and acted in several TV dramas, so I think he is pretty interesting guy ! ! !
Of course Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is well known on The Spill from our He Said She Said series and she is also really interesting ! ! ! I really expect her to take over the world sooner or later or at least become prime minister ! ! !
She is a successful model and business woman (Her company make the best false eye lashes in the world ! ! ! ) as well as a great designer and her move to music has been typical KPP. Really well organised, totally professional and creative and eccentric at the same time. She is really a very smart lady as well as being super talented and beautiful ! ! !
Mr P ! ! ! Of course, there are some Japanese women who drink alcohol but I think it is much less common than in the UK or the USA. It is considered un-lady like to drink too much and it is very rare that you will see an intoxicated woman in public. (of course the opposite is true of the guys and the entertainment districts are full of drunk men after work)
Thanks for the info Ms S.
Genki Sudo sounds an interesting and successful guy ( I hate him already !).
I was really surprised to see the drinking in the Kyary video, I think it’s the first time I’ve seen it in a pop video from Japan. My suspicion was that she is deliberately being “outrageous” to generate publicity. Of course I know that some Japanese ladies drink alcohol ( they are not all perfect, obviously).
I’m not so sure Kyary will take over the world, she certainly has the image but I’m not totally convinced the music is strong enough.
But then, really, what do I know ?
There were a couple of articles in Fader from the end of last year and the beginning of this if you are interested – doesn’t add much… except the writer is slightly obsessed with Kyary Pamyu Pamyu
and maybe the drinking is to celebrate her 20 birthday.
Interesting, so she is beginning to make waves !
Perhaps world domination isn’t off the menu after all.
Everybody get their Kyary false eyelashes now before the rush.
Very interesting dancing there. I must say I am always deeply amused impressed by Nick Cave and Blixa’s dancing in the weeping Song video, “gay businessmen” was the description I believe
