some of my favourites in there – Primitive Painters being one – and I have a transparent disc of the Gay Dad CD with an orange central design that’s been on my wall since the eldest was born – Art Since 1978 is an ace B side (I think I nominated it for b sides and visual art before) great playlist as ever. Cheers.
Don’t know ‘Hush Sound’ – off to investigate.
Probably Art Day One

Thanks for the HatyWain. Will listen later. Listening to shoey’s list while cooking. Great. Should have had Skalpel on my dond list.
Any reason why you’ve not posted these? Just wondering cos I haven’t really cared about playing the last few weeks, apart from this week.
HatyWain could I claim that was a Moomin character and not a typo?
Fuel
Off to the optician’s tomorrow.
Not sure if I like the growl of Maudlin of the Well but I do like the music, will give that another listen. Major donds for “Grim Augury”.
Forgot to dond MoB, too. A very good topic for pop sounds.
Happy New Year, Fuel.
And Happy New Year to you too, amylee. ha! I’ve just remembered
Dada Life – Rolling Stones T-shirt. Not very good but it’s about artwork.
I’ve enjoyed the run of themes lately, but not getting enough time to listen to suggestions. Almost think it might be best to leave RR alone, as it seems rude to nom & not listen to anyone else.
Fuel – I don’t much care for the growl either – but I do like the music and imagination involved.
I’ve not posted because I’m pretty down at the moment and I’ve found certain things have left a bad taste …. I believe I’m just as responsible on a blog, as I am are in real life, for the actions I take and words I throw around … at the moment I don’t think I can express myself without vitriolic language clouding the point.
Best to keep myself to myself.
We need the Sane playlists back – get it sorted.
my reply to Fuel now makes your comment look aggressive – heehee.
I’m off to imagination land with HatyWain.
saneshane, hope you find a way out of the doldrums. I believe HatyWain knows the way, but don’t expect her to use a map, compass or straight line. Oh! And look out for The Groke.
Fertile ground for angular indie art-rock this week – who’d have thought?
Enjoyed this list, Art Brut and Felt particularly. Gay Dad better than expected – I’m now wondering if I ever actually heard any of their music back in the day.
“Death of Sarah Lucas” was my first RR A-lister.
Has a little more cred than a debut listing of Coldplay.
good first set. Loved MOB (solo!), Art Brut, Rezillos, but star for me was Gay Dad. Vaguely remember someone (Panther?) doing a Gay Dad post and i was meh about them. But this one totally rocked.
Don’t know much about Gay Dad, beyond them having a great name & a good tune here & there.

Faves of set 2 were the awesome Breeders, and also Felt was gorgeous. Thanks!
