  1. first 6 perfectly soundtracked the end – with a distinct personal taste to the theme.

the rest jarred between songs I liked and others that didn’t do it for me – ace work as ever …

did you have Mountain Goats: ‘The Plague’? I think it was supposed to be on a sub pop thing – but never seen it released anywhere.

kexp session at ‘so this is what the volume knobs for’ if you haven’t heard it.

    • Am getting a bit annoyed by the bonus track thing – at least Amazon will let you grab the bonuses without rebuying a whole album.

Nearly scrapped the non-dub part as the rest of the tunes don’t really work together that well – a common problem with RR “results”.

  2. Ha ha ha! Paul Anka – Black Hole Sun. Brilliant! Just checked the album out, got to get that. Just submitted a similar type of earworm today, too. How spooky is that. Back when I’ve had a listen to the whole thing.

      • Thank you! I’ve just ordered it for the magnificent price of £2.98.

At the same time I ordered Pat Boone’s Mad About Metal: No More Mr Nice Guy. If you like the sound of that, let me know and I’ll box it when I get it. To reach me click on my profile and ta-da! (me and the gangsta mail.)

        Here’s SOTW (feat. Ritchie Blackmore)

        I wish I had Chinny’s email address!

    • cheers fuel – I spent last night listening to ‘Phrases to Break the Ice’ after your ‘ Kids Aren’t Safe in the Metro’ recommend on the tube thread – totally enjoyed it – ace flourishes to the alt/new wave sounds ….

      • Youthful and irrepressible, Satellite Stories have a great sound. I should try and recommend some more new sounds like that. Cheerio.

  3. have been burning the late afternoon oil in the office this week, so had a chance to listen to this…hugely enjoyable all round.

I kind if feel too old to listen ti MCR, but every time I hear them. they always sound so great!
