  1. Ha. Just playing A Bottle of Buckie when the Guardian live link to the Chancellor’s (George rich, dim and extremely mean) autumn budget debate started working. Wondered what the new, satirical aBoB mix was as Ed Balls talked about Osborne missing “A hurricane brewing in the Eurozone”. Might have to put the live link back on when we get to Ciccone Youth.

    • Worked really well with Osborne making excuses after excuses and Dennis Skinner making a direct personal attack on Osborne, which he refused to answer. Skinner’s speech worked really well after some top feedback had drowned out Osborne just before. Didn’t go quite as well with Glasgow Megasnake.

    • Ha. Similar here – Russian roulette with the bullet aimed at our well being. Unless the filthy rich ….erm, I mean “job creators” are allowed to keep their sweet tax deals they bribed for themselves, they will slash & burn all aspects of Government that actually help people. Am sure funds for banks & tanks will not be affected in any way.

      • Nice. I actually don’t think the Tories are stupid at all. What they’re doing is a perfectly coordinated attack on “those aspects of government that help people”. It’s about entrenching social, political and financial power in their hands for a generation. The “reforms” they’re making now will be extremely difficult to reverse.

Sorry, that doesn’t really belong on a thread for such a wonderful playlist.

      • Tories or Republicans it’s the same old thing. The Tories aren’t as crass to claim Divine Right (at least not openly). Republicans are pissed at Mitt for showing their hand. As Mark Stewart would scream – pay it all back.

        Glad you enjoyed the tunes.

  2. Have to stop listening at Jesse Rae. That’s an amazing selection. Love that EF rmx; didn’t know that before – only heard the 12 min version. Thee Oh Sees, King Horror, and the BW&AM, EF narrowly beaten by TL&tP

  3. First set liked Ted Leo and Mogwai best. But absolutely loved the second set. Thought that King Horror was the best thing i ever heard in my life until i heard the Glasgow Jubilee. Loved the last three too, and you’ve left me with a big stupid grin on my face. Thanks Shoey.

  4. enjoyable selection shoey – thought the big man and the scream team meet barmy army uptown – was going to be a different track to mine – but then realised ‘Electric Soup Dub’ – is on the EP I have – released for euro ’96 – I think.
I tunes puts that under ‘Primal Scream’ only!

anyway Ef – think that was my pick up the ears nomination this week – brilliant sound.

    …………………

“Maybe Scotland’s got nothing to do with it
Maybe all this has got nothing to do with anything

But I know that I would give it all up
    Trade it all in

    For a springboard
    And a pair of shorts
    And a plain white t-shirt
    And a perfect backflip”

    ………………..
