Evan Taubenfield is well known as the guitarist and producer for Avril Lavigne, so what is he doing teaming up with Okinawan girl rockers Stereopony ? ? ?
Well, early this year, the singer and guitarist of Stereopony, Ami Haraguni had to have an operation on her vocal chords and so the band had to stop touring.
Drummer Shiho Yamanoha and bass player Nohana Kitajima decided to go to the USA to explore some different musical influences and develop themselves as muscians and while they were there they met Evan Taubenfield.
Nohana and Shiho began working with Evan Taubenfield and formed a side unit together which they called Evanpony. Once Ami was recovered she went to LA and they recorded this track which was released in October this year.

Stereopony have announced they will disband at the end of this year to follow different musical paths. The gossip is that Nohana and Shiho will work with Evan as Evanpony.
So what about Ami ? ? ? As you know from my recent post YUI has announced that she will take an indefinite hiatus , but, it has been confirmed officially she will be playing with Strereopony ( like a member of the band ) for some tracks at one of their concerts in December.
In my post earlier this year I highlighted the co-operation between Stereopony and YUI in the past, including being the only band she had ever written a song for. So now the rumors and gossip is that Evanpony will be Nohana, Shiho and Evan and there will be a collaboration between Ami and YUI ! ! !
Of course this is only internet gossip so it absolutely can not be relied on . . .

I am confused. I thought it was the drummer of Stereopony who was sick. Now you tell me it was the guitarist.
I want Ami’s solo venture to be called Monohorse. But I like Rev P’s suggestion. TYs is silly.

They have not been very lucky ! ! !
The drummer was sick in 2011 and that forced them to stop touring then. This year started really great for them and they released the fantastic album More More More in January and went on a mini tour of the USA, but in May they had to stop again because Ami had vocal cord polyps and needed an operation to remove them.
I do not know exactly what was wrong with the drummer but it was quite serious I think. But they are both fine now ! ! !

I like it a lot and saw a really nice live house this summer of Vkei band (I have actually forgotten the name – duh ! ! ! ) I was working in different cities all across Japan in the summer until september and it all became a blur after a while. so I can not even remember the city now ! ! !
But I do LIke VKei and Gact is one of my favourites. I am from Okinawa prefecture originally and so is he so he has always been special for me.
