Yui Announced today that she was taking an indefinite hiatus from performing and recording. She made the announcement on her website today.
However she also says that she wants a new challenge and to continue to enjoy and have fun with music and work in the background,
This of course has led to a lot of speculation that she will follow a career in music production and maybe writing for other artists.
She has been the best selling female singer songwriter in Japan since she was 17 and in the eight years she has been working she has achieved so much it is hard to believe she still only 25.
I am sure all her fans will miss her and of course she said hiatus and not retirement and so of course we hope she will come back one day.
I am sure she deserves some time away fromt the public to enjoy time with her family and friends.
I am confident we will see her influence in other artists as either a song writer or producer and one day I am sure she will be back.
Of course I will prepare a post detailing her tremendous achievements so far. Somehow I am sure we have not heard the last of YUI.
She is a unique artist and her integrity, strength, kindness and humanity was transmitted in all her songs and performances. She will be missed very much in Japan and all Asia.
Of course I and all her fans wish her success and happiness this new phase of her life.

She did take a break before in 2009 for six months more or less, but it was always known it was just a break to rest and go on holiday and she came back and released the Holidays In The Sun album which was a great album.
This time she seems to be thinking of a longer break and trying something new. I somehow think she will not be able to stay away from music – it is too much part of her for that ! ! !
But I wonder what she will do ! ! !

I am so sorry Yuki san. My boyfriend was in a town near Sendai but he escaped OK but I could not contact him or have any news for a long time and I did not know if he was alive – I was going crazy. BUt thank god he was OK.
The guys and ladies on this site supported me really very much and I will love them for ever for that ! ! !
