Perfect Intro – I seem to like that tune more every time I hear. Postmarks – Nice voice, shame about the paranoia. Just kidding – sweet and sour is a nice mix. It’s a treat to hear The Colourfield again, I’d forgotten they did that lovely cover. And then another mega-blast from past from Yello. Forgot all about this tune too. Witches Multiplication Table is my kinda maths!
A Hawk And The Hacksaw is very . . . . . Russian! Yep. Like that. Candle In The Wind not what I thought it’d be at all – the honesty is very refreshing. Ween song just made me pish my sides. Mark E on form here, and can’t keep still to this tune. I’m discovering that The Goodies were unsung musical geniuses. My favourite is Raymen. Darkly Dreaming Hillbilly sound just right this week.
Oh and if you watch closely you might just catch a little twitch of a smirk from Terry Hall in this cute little song
Particularly pleased you liked The Raymen – they always make me smile.
Oh I love The Raymen! Been checking out some more tunes yesterday. Was screaming this particular one out at the stroke of midnight.
OW OW OWWWWW
Neighbours must love me
I used to be a warewolf, but I’m alright nowwwwwww.
I’m discovering that The Goodies were unsung musical geniuses.
Just Bill Oddie, I think – he wrote all the songs.
I liked the Andrew Jackson Jihad best, Shoey, whom I’d never heard of – will investigate!
Yes you’re right, he did. But maybe the songs wouldn’t have had the same effect with him doing them solo. He was/is a clever clogs is old Bill – can be a bit arrogant sometimes these days, but he loves his birdies, so he’s redeemed.
Oh and forgot Shoey. Love the Múm tune. Wasn’t expecting that either. Simply deep lyrics underneath the wacky title and mangled electronica sounds, works a treat.
and another familiar song about windmills. Free cartoon incl.
Gorrilaz – did you nom that one? Fun vid, not seen it before.
Hey TFD, the keyboard part in The Goodies is well dodgy, but apart from that it holds up pretty well – they really were a kiddies version of The Pythons.
Glad you liked it, Shane might be miffed though, as he’s been plugging AJJ for some time.
So why would Shane be miffed if I like them?
Because you were too besotted with a certain Mr Petty to pay attention. (I’m sure he won’t mind much – but do try to keep up).
Good to see you in the lounge btw.
But I still love TP above all things, and I’ve noticed them now…
