Gorgeous first set Shoey.
Glad you likey. All goes a bit disco in part 2 – but it’s an odd disco.
Just listened to A Side. Once again, top notch stuff. Nice trippy meloncholia intro with Zephyr, then WOW! Dream-time in excelsis with Winterlight. Can imagine lying in a field with the one I love, gazing up at the beautiful canopy above, same goes for John Cale. Gorgeous. Country Teasers big fun! Bringing you back down to earth with a humorous bump – love the take on original Wandering Star. Those fuzzy guitars kick some grinding ass! Nice finish with E&TB.
Will listen to B Side inna bit. Thanks for that little trip. Very nice
Very few other ‘Spillers or RRers are likely to be Country Teaser fans, although they’re mostly behaving themselves on this one.
It’s my favourite one of this set. But then I am a bit warped you may have already guessed. I’m going on YT later to check some more out. Any pointers would be most appreciated. The sicker the better sil vous plait!
Like the early ones best: “Pastoral Not Rustic” or “Satan is Real Again”, but hard to track down. Here’s their website:

Ha ha. Check out the main line. Just goofed a gag on there thanks to that song. Thanks for link, I’ve never heard of them before. Didn’t know they were Scottish.either.
I love the first track already and its not even finished
Single from Glasgow & Mogwai’s own Rock Action from 2000.
Goooood playlist!
Glad you liiiiiiked.
amazing opening trilogy of tracks Shoey…
Probably should have edited a little more, but it seems I have a silly amount of sky songs.
The first four, the last four and the Bunnymen means that there won’t be much room on the A-list for anyone else.
Ran out of time to nom most of them luckily/unfortunately. Most miffed for missing Ordinarysons – think Mnemonic might have backed that one.
Me too. I missed loads this week. The Choir of Young Believers, about 10 songs by Shearwater, (I presume someone mentioned Shearwater and tried to get into the guru’s good books.) and … Damn! It was bad week for me to be missing out
Choir Of Young Believers would have been a great call.
Was hunting all over the ‘Spill for the touted Fuel playlist; eventually found some dubious YouTube proxy shenanigans on the Mothership via Amy.
Yeah, that would be the one. I was just the copy and paster there. There was an addenum of a few more tunes from the horses mouth later on.
Another blissful excursion on the B Side. Love the Matt Bianco bit (‘I say yeah yeah’) on Pepe Deluxe. Really like Tarwater track.
Transglobal Underground just beautiful. The similarities to DJ Shadow’s ‘What Does your Soul Look Like Part 1 (Blue Skies Revisit)’ is startling, but then it does use the same samples: David Young – Joe Splivingates and Shawn Phillips – All Our Love. But you’ll probably know that already. It was thanks to some stranger who mysteriously appeared on the main line, that I discovered this tune, and recognised the sampling straight away.
Nice bouncy finish with Audio Active.
Great playlist Shoegazer (or should that be Stargazer now!). Like a dance club in the sky, jumping from cloud to cloud. Moon as glitterball, stars as flashing lghts. You get the picture….
re TU track Also draws on this gorgeous thing:
Who says sampling ain’t fun!
Now that is an impressive track down!
Didn’t know the samples – nice work. The Tarwater is a (maybe the only) Virgin Prunes cover.
Sorry Shoegazer, but I just HAD to post the vid of Pepe Deluxe as it made me giggle. I really really like this song.
I’m doing it again arn’t I? Messin around on your post. I hope you don’t mind. Just havin fun ’tis all.
Keep ‘em coming. Give the new Pepe album a try – it’s really good.
For sure. Thanks.
Pussy Cat Rock and Salami Fever are pretty good too but Pepe Deluxé’s A Night and a Day is the one that really holds my attention.
Hiya Fuel. Missed you this week cocker. I will check that out, thanks. Done all the housework now, in between flitting around on here. Going a bit doo-lally now, so going to give your Sky playlist a spin with a frothy cappuccino. See you around RR town soon x
Oh hello! Ha ha!
Shoey & Fuel. Just splashed out on 2 Pepe Deluxe albums from Amazon UK
Beatitude – £0.70p
Queen Of The Wave – £0.48p
Bargain or what?!
Oh and track 2 from Spare Time Machine made me
but at £4.98 that album is a bit out of my price range! Just kidding, I’ll check the others out first and to gorge on 3 albums at once is just being a greedy guts, isn’t it?
Thanks for your musical guidance both of you. Very grateful
Completely forgot that PD are Finns. Glad the ‘Spills own Finlandier Ambassador was able to step in.
