I must be in a mood for introspective young men singing quietly over lo-fi electronica, because Peter Broderick and Casiotone’s Springsteen cover stood out. Also particularly liked White Denim’s guitars, the Pastels’ vocals and MBV doing wire. That Amsterdam song is quite an anthem too – not sure why I know it – I think someone may have posted it as an Earworm a while back?
I followed Peter Broderick’s link: http://www.itstartshear.com
What a creative and generous way of presenting some beautiful music. Thanks for the introduction.
Hadn’t heard of him either until this genius marketing campaign. Cheers for listening.
Ooh, playlists now work on the mobile. Cool.
Return to sender he says, but…no Elvis. We wuz robbed!:-)
Incredibly good playlist. Love it. Of course, Albert Collins was yum, that was predictable for me. Peter Broderick was very interesting, I really liked it but not sure about it fitting. Blancmonge (not that Blancmonge surely?) was excellent and Cassiotone’s Street’s Of Philadelphia was incredible, Mogwai was peculiarly lovely. My Bloody Valentine – fuzztastic.
I’m donding lite so it’s old Albert as it’s the most on topic, but gotta give a shout for MBV too. Just can’t not.
Waderyer mean not fitting? The man sings his whole IP address as a chorus! & it works. If that’s not a song about addresses….
& it is that Living On The Ceiling Blancmange – they quietly reformed & put out a new album, last year.
Thanks for listening.
Duh-uh.
An inspired collection. Thanks.
Thanks, Stardust.
