I suspect that this was enormous fun to record, and it’s a shame that the project it was recorded for isn’t going to see the light of day.
“Julianne Regan and Jean-Marc Lederman in an old jazz tune (courtesy of public domain jazz band ‘Ambassadors” song) with Noel Coward inspired lyrics.
This was done as theme for a webserie that will, unfortunately, not see the light of day.”
Would never have guessed that was Julianne. That is a lot of fun.
Not that she’s not usually fun! Oh you know what I mean…
I do, I do, Bish. It’s different, isn’t it? She’s affected a cut-glass accent which works very well with the conceit of the song, as does her customary clarity (slighty obfuscated by the old-vinyl noise effect). She’d have never have got away with this with the Eves…
I like this despite that fact that one of the things I like about her voice is the usual lack of affectation.
A fun excursion, I enjoyed it.
