Ho ho ho – I knew that would rankle! No, I’m sure you solved it but, at the time, I had no proof that you had it right or that you were the first….
I did solve it, but I don’t know your email address and obviously wasn’t going to post the answers and spoil everybody’s fun!

The title clue is wonderful – not sure if PTA might not be considered killers by those of us who work in teaching as well, mind you! Had got most of it and wouldn’t have noticed the mistake in 1 down anyway. Thanks Chris.
