Well, he’s been with us just over a week, and already rules the roost. With all our previous kittens, we’ve kept them in their own room for at least 4-5 days before encouraging them to venture out and cautiously start exploring; young Bertie was strutting round the house as if he owns it by the end of Day Two. The other three cats are slowly coming to terms with the situation, ‘cos they don’t have any choice; this kitten is simply indomitable – and I’m feeling slightly worried about how I’m going to cope this weekend, as Mrs Abahachi is off visiting her mother, leaving me to try to keep the peace and stop Bertie wrecking the living room… Soundtrack by Lee Morgan, Tom Cat…
Aba, he’s beautiful! What breed is he?
Siamese, lilac point. Apparently he’ll grow into the ears eventually.
He’s very lovely!
Ouufff. Beautiful but deadly. Have a friend with a Siamese – I suggest stocking up on antiseptic, plasters, and gin (or alcohol of your choice, the more numbing the better), Gorgeous!
Not deadly, they’re lovely, they have a unique ‘voice’, no other breed sounds like a Siamese; we keep saying that we should get another but we already have two ‘normal’ cats plus three dogs. I used to play ‘rough-house’ with our Siamese Biko, in the beginning he didn’t know it was a game so I was usually covered in scratches all over my hands, he grew out of that though. A game he absolutely loved was a bundle of catnip tied inside an old sock, he’d play with that for hours throwing it and catching it, plus another was when I’d spread a double sheet of newsprint on the floor and then poke a very thin flexible cane under it; he’d see the movement and dive under the paper or else he’s attack it from above. Only use day old papers.
Here’s Biko:

hope this works, always had trouble posting pics in comments.
One more time:

He’s gorgeous, GF! Is he a lilac point too? I don’t know if i’ve actually seen a real lilac before, usually it’s chocolate.
Love it!
My (newish) Kit has just realised that he’ll see more of Mewsli if he strokes him gently rather than grabbing him and loving him to death!
Bertie come lately….
Actually AmyLee Biko’s a was not an is, he stayed with us for about 15 years. He adopted us in the 80′s, he was a very lean alley cat, I suspect someone discarded him when they had to move. He was beautiful and very friendly and gregarious, he went everywhere with us riding on the dashboard and mewing his Siamese comments to the delight of passing traffic. Ultimately the time to leave came, I made the mistake of trying to extend his life but he knew how to deal with it and one Saturday afternoon he let out an awful shriek and was gone in a minute; he has a permanent spot in the garden.
Oh WOW!!!!
Totemo kawaii desu yo!!!s
He is really super cute!!!!
