aaarrggh!!

Bill Traylor is my favorite artist! I was writing a song about him! This bastard came along and wrote a beautiful song for oud and double bass! Bastard!!

Anyway…I love Bill Traylor, and I love this song, too. Damnit.

  1. I liked that! And I look forward to your song Steen.

For some reason it made me think of this:

Tom Weir was a wee old man who used to do tv programmes were he’d be up a mountain talking to another wee old man about sheep or bracken. These tv shows were always on late night scottish tv, when you crawled in from the pub. He had a very red nose from all the bevvy.

  2. I actually loved the sound of it. (I seem to have a love of bass lately, it’s soothing these days). Unfortunately couldn’t understand a word of the lyrics :)

  3. Blimpy – I loved that song! Now it will be stuck in my head all day, but in a happy way. I doubt I’ll ever finish my Bill Traylor song, especially now. Sniff.

Amylee – I love bass, too. Are you getting all this snow?

Panthersan – Bill Traylor was an “outsider” or untrained artist born in the 1850s on a slave plantation and “discovered” by a painter & photographer named Shannon in the early 20th century. I think his pictures are completely, astonishingly beautiful!

    • Yes we are, and a brand new storm as we speak. I am so over it, i’m out of New England by September. I sent Maki a snow-inspired earworm. Only bright side i can see is that maybe the ground will be moist enough for a good crop of spring flowers.
