CHRISTMAS AT RAWLINSON END. part one – part two – part three – part 4, Boxing day.
If you need to take a break from all those lists and that’s a possibility, given there was over 61/2 hours of tunes there yesterday, try this, a bit of very traditional Goon/Python type Christmas humor.

Big fan of Viv & The Gonzo’s, especially this stuff. Picked up an interesting album recently: “Songs The Bonzo Dog Band Taught Us” – the originals of many of their tunes. Much of it is even before your time. Anyway. Have a great Christmas.
You’ve done us all a huge favour by posting this gem gf. I’ll warrant it’s the original material as aired by John Peel – I taped them all anti-religiously, er diligently and them promptly lost ‘em about ten years later. The LP great as it was didn’t quite have that crackling genius of the original radio pieces.
“Mrs E – dismiss!” “Now where was I ? Ah yes. In me tent. Turned out I’d been lying there for half an hour with a bloody great frog on me chest. Well I hadn’t the heart to kill it, but I twisted it’s arm something rotten.”
the heart of English genius
I interviewed Viv for the LSE mag back in 1979 when he was touring Sir Henry, and spent a happy three hours in Roehampton on the houseboat with the turtles. Special man.
part two part three part four ? now read on dot dot dot
well you made my Christmas gf – we listened to vintage Rawlinson driving up to Wembley and mrs magic’s mother’s traditional caribbean christmas…got into a proper fit of giggles at one point.
What beautiful words.
Can we have the next social down the Fool and Bladder please ?
Thanks from me too GF! I got a copy of Men Opening Umbrellas Ahead from Mrs TY yesterday finally out on CD. Hear hear to The Fool and Bladder, with Old Scrotum, the wrinkled retainer passing amongst us and serving ginger beer from a silver tray.
Old Scrotum, the wrinkled retainer, just hobbled up from the be-rooked lower field to whisper into the folded pink carapace fleshy lobe of my encrusted left ear : “where’s part one in the dropbox?” ssssshhhhhhhh
consulting a book called iching before she goes to the lavatory ?
good god what have I married ?
