Venus de milo

Encountered this recently on NPR and I’m finding it a wonderfully soothing and charming piece of music amidst pre-christmas stress, arctic winter conditions and a mouth full of wire.

  1. Cheers Shane.. As it happens, the wine isn’t strong enough to dissolve the wire I’ve got joining my teeth together.. I’m working on it.. plus side is I feel like a gawky teenager again.. minus side is that eating is like sucking on a porcupine.

    • “I feel like a gawky teenager again”
never do I want to experience that again.
      ouch, I say.
New Zealanders will be having an exotic xmas lunch then – porcupine sucking with roasties – umm – veggie option?

      hope it eases soon.

      • The veggies will get the prickly bits off the top of the tree. (If I remember to remove the decorations first).
I’m getting by though- my dentist has snuck me some wax sticks which I can plaster over the sharp bits. (sorry, too much detail there, I know)

  2. I realy like Ms Kent (first discovered on an arte all-nighter?), thank you for posting this. We were snowed off school today – despite Hamburg’s ‘come hell or high water school will never be cancelled’ policiy, so I’ve got plug-in-and-listen-time!

    • I saw the Schneechaos on the news, hope you enjoy the free time but still manage to make it to the shops! We’re not quite as snowed in down here- still managed to make this afternoon’s Adventstunde in Mara’s class, which ended in a riotous game of “kerzenduell”.
(you try to sew a button on a piece of fabric and eat a piece of Zwieback quicker than your rival, which you’re only allowed to do while your candle’s burning, so you end up spraying crumbs over them trying to blow their candle out while you relight your own)
