After figuring out which clocks had automatically changed and which hadn’t, I took a listen to this… I think the Nitin Sawhney suits my morning best, wonderful textures.. off to make some crepes for the girls.
Olivia Tremor Control was a band I always wanted to check out more of, back when I had my Neutral Milk Hotel obsession, but their vinyl records always sold for silly money on ebay.
Nice to hear Dizzee from back when he rapped over beats made on a playstation that sound like weird Akiraesque music, oh yeah.
Pure Morning is a 100% killer tune, and one I used for a movie I made as a student, a conversation post one night stand between a boy and a girl, the viewer finds out they are indeed brother and sister. She walks out into the (pure) morning with the song playing. Oh yeah!!
enjoyed the lot – but standouts were the invaders – goats – duritti c –
and even though I disliked Placebo at the time.. you can’t deny the effect of that tune.. takes me right back to the indie disco.. really enjoyed it, surprisingly.
oh and muse put a bit of ummph into rising sun didn’t they – overblown in a fun way.
