Dernier Domicile Connu – François De Roubaix
What I Say – Miles Davis
Cherrystones – Eugene McDaniels
Four Tops – Still Water
6ix – I’m Just Like You
Only Living Boy In New York – Simon & Garfunkel
E.V.A. – Jean-Jacques Perrey
Definitely worth a second bite of the cherry.. love that What I Say, it’s the hottest and most soulful version, Bartz and Airto particularly brilliant.
I could easily have assumed the Simon & Garfunkel track was contemporary- very sophisticated, and well produced.
E.V.A. equally so- that really hit the spot, praise indeed from me with the Cellar Door elephant in the same room.
(There’s a Track 8 on the playlist, not credited though)
I agree about Simon & Garfunkel – I first heard that song on the Garden State soundtrack, amongst contemporary american indie, and was blown away by it. Ahead of its time? Or is indie wedged in the past?

Another great photo, btw.
Forgot to give poor 6ix a song title. Glad you came back, it was another great year.

I don’t know what you’re talking about, the playlist only has 7, are we clear?

ohh…this second set was even better, mainly because of the incredible Miles track.

Donds for what Mr Panther said about the Miles jam.

still reminds me of this:
Hey, the Mona Lisa sneaked into that fabulous montage, I’ll have Jane Birkin as an honorary Frenchwoman though.
I’ll have Jane Birkin as an honorary Frenchwoman though.
Ffwoarr!
But Frogprincess is an honourary Frenchwoman!
Love that Miles Davis. Phenomenal. Also liked 6ix and E.V.A.
That Paul Simon track is a heartbreaker isn’t it? It’s a sort of theme song of my brother’s and always makes me think of him.
