shhhh – don’t tell anyone …my child(ren) won’t need new clothes – really – when the xx box set is the most beautiful thing in the world ever!
Put ‘em up the chimney, it worked for the Victorians & it never did them any harm did it?
cheers for the heads up….is downloading now!
JDJ is indeed the best mix ever, though I always have a soft spot for the Coldcut/DJ Food fight mix on Coldkrushcuts- probably because it was my first ever Ninja Tune purchase, but perhaps because it is more cinematic and slightly less harder edged than JDJ. But in terms of mixing/mashing, eclecticism and sheer inventiveness JDJ takes the chequered flag.
Coldcut host a 2 hour show celebrating the 20th anniversary of the label tonight (Sunday 26th) on 6 Music’s 6 Mix show . Special mixes have been compiled by DJ Food, Mr Scruff, Daedelus and Toddla T (doing a Roots Manuva special) showcasing tracks from the new XX compilations and Ninja classics. It starts at 8pm and will be available on the BBC’s Listen Again feature for a week afterwards.
