Nice, Nilpferd. I really like what Binary Star did with the Ramsey Lewis track – retaining the mellowness but imbuing it with their own freakin energy. And the Ramsey Lewis track just gets better as it goes along. I love a good sample post.
I need some de-stressing, my end, too. I feel like a needle that’s come off the track and needs a little nudge to get back into the groove.

@Steen, I feel a bit like a 33 rpm being played at 45 at the moment. (Or whatever the exact numbers for those record thingies are.)
We’re going to Algero, in Sardinia. Never been there but I’m pinning my hopes on hot weather, nice beaches, great food and wine, and long evening strolls along the promenade amid elegant and civilised people.
Sounds absolutely perfect, Nilpferd. I’ve never been, either (not surprisingly) but our favorite restaurant in Boston was Sardinian. So I’m anticipating great food and wine for you based on that skewed reasoning.
We just went on an impromptu camping trip. (started out with nothing but a bag of peanuts and 3 plums!) Perhaps it was the nudge I needed, but at the moment one night in a tent with two little sleep walkers feels like a week of not sleeping.

Thanks steen. I need it. hah, tent-wise I recently discovered I’ve become a real sissy, trying to camp on the riverside a month or two ago. Mara woke us up in the middle of the night totally disoriented and convinced we’d moved her and all her stuff around 180 degrees, it was too loud (there was a water wheel on the river) and I was too hot.
I think I’m approaching middle age. Looking forward to settling myself down on a rickety bank overlooking the sea and playing chess with the other pensioners down in Sardinia.

That was perfect, especially Wandering Rose, and I like how the rapper seems to be slightly behind the beat.

Ejaydee, good point about being just behind the beat- it stretches things, makes the track looser.
Same sort feel as The Roots’ Mellow, my man, another fav. relaxing rap of mine. GURU did this brilliantly too.

(if there’s any camping to do I nominate the boy and the ms. to do my share…. architects were invented to save us from flimsy canvas. you can get a foot fat mattress from ikea for the price of a tent and a wood burner inside can heat all the radiators or underfloor heating, so you don’t have to inhale smoke sitting 6″ from the fire but still have a cold back… case closed)
