The first S&M playlist appeared on the old ‘Spill on Jan 21st this year. In the intervening 30 weeks (count ‘em!) Tincanman has done an amazing job: curating our picks, designing the playlists and generally maintaining what has become a regular and eagerly anticipated feature of our blog. Well, after over six months at the helm, he has asked me to take over for six months, the idea being that maybe someone else would take over after that.
I am flattered that Tin has asked me to do this but also very aware of the responsibility I am taking on. There will be no changes other than the name at the top of the post. Tin’s original remit that we should avoid leftovers from RR topics and other ‘Spill posts stands firm. Other than that, there have never been any rules because we don’t need them. I look forward to the challenge.
Next Tuesday’s earworms will be Tin’s last. I will make my debut on Tuesday 31st.

Sometimes it’s easier to organise these things when you are really busy (as I seem to have been for the last year or so). There’s no putting off allowed. Having said that, I’m on holiday for a whole week and tomorrow we’re off to Valencia!!!
As for the earworms – I love this feature so much, I’m always going to be able to find the time!

I second that emotion. Huge thanks to Tinnie for starting it, curating it, and doing the succession planning. And welcome Maki. I’ll try to at least remember to submit earworms from time to time. I think the clue is in the title, so I try to only submit songs where a bit of the song keeps repeating over and over in my minds ear. Fortunately, I don’t have one every week!
Just adding my appreciation too. This post is actually one of the highlights of my week.
I’ve tended to interpret Earworm quite loosely, otherwise you’d be regularly subjected to songs from children’s TV programmes.
