A real nostalgia trip to hear Hunters and Collectors again… must be nearly 20 yrs since I last heard them. That photo reminds me of being shot at by a couple of idiot kids while biking in Central Otago with my brother. Plenty of rabbits around at the time, no foxes though.
1st saw H&C in a room so tiny that the band took up more than half the space. There were quite a lot of them in the early days. They got less interesting as time went on, as they shed members & went for a more mainstream sound. Those 1st few albums are gold. Good times.
seems like ages since i’ve sat back for a nice Shoey set….liked Passions a lot, Mogwai sounded magnificent as ever, i liked the fuzz on The Raymen, American Analogue Set was a surprise package and my favourite of the lot, Hunter and Collectors are someone i’d never heard of, but enjoyed the epic track.
I was hoping the Stranglers would be a Will Smith cover….
