Goodison Bound

The Toffee Family is on its way up to Edinburgh next week and we’ll be stopping off in Liverpool to take in the momentous Everton v Everton (Chile) match at Goodison Park on Wednesday evening (4 August).

I’m meeting two of Merseyside’s greatest luminaries (sonofwebcore and tincanman) for a glass of ginger beer on Wednesday afternoon. If anyone else fancies joining us you’re more than welcome.

  1. Weds 4th. Hmmm. Not out of the question, that one. Tinny’s already got my mobile number, Toffee, and I’ll email it to you in a minute.

  2. What DsD said pretty much goes for me as well. Tin can get me on e-mail so when you get the wheres and whens in place, keep me posted.

  3. Hi all

The place: The Bluecoat in School Lane opposite Church Alley (across from Liverpool One)

    The date: Wednesday 4th August

    The time: 1400 hours

Dress: Yes please – the alternative doesn’t bear thinking about …

  4. I do hope it’s a good match, TB; I seem to remember Chile as being one of the more positive sides in the World Cup. Give my regards to the ground which, I’m ashamed to say, I’ve never been to.
There is a small possibility I’ll turn up at The Bluecoat. I’ll have to cast some runes and pore over chicken entrails to find out.

    • Chile had one of the better-balanced sides at the WC. They looked like a team, rather than a bundle of spikey egos and stellar names (no offence intended), and played efficiently with or without the ball. They’ll be a tough nut to crack.

Hope you enjoy the game, the drinkies and (TBs) the Scottish trip…

    • Put a bit more shine on the left hand one and it makes cornering much more efficient, plus you’ll be able to see up toffeeboy’s dress.

  5. Enjoy the game and the social. Would be there like a shot if I was in the UK.
I know that at least one of my nephews will be there.
Hopefully he will have the England/Everton flag with him from the World Cup final. Keep an eye out. His season ticket is in the Gwladys St end.

  6. Won’t be able to make it but hope you have a great time. Funnily enough have just been to Liverpool today as I’ve signed up to do a post-graduate course in public administration – how ironic is that??? Not sure if I’ll bother with years 2 and 3 … it all seemed like such a good idea at the time!
