Anyone else signing up for this?

http://www.mflow.com/

I have, but so far it’s like getting arriving first at a party when you don’t know the host.
I’m the one standing in the corner, shuffling awkwardly whilst sipping on a sherry glass full of cherry vodka.

And sorry to the rest of the world, but it seems to be a UK-only launch.

  1. I did last month but haven’t used it since seeing how it works. I signed up pretty much to hold a place in case it takes off… which I doubt will happen. On the other hand, there is deffo a place for social chat about music – just look at us – and someone will get the combo right someday.

  2. Between last.fm, songkick and spotify I think I have more than enough to listen to already. If my friends all start joining I might change my mind but something will have to go

  3. HEY DsD, there’s some Zola Jesus in the dropB for you.. a very rough home recorded album.. very interesting.. I would do it through mflow.. but didn’t get around to signing up!

  4. Thanks, Shane. I hadn’t noticed, but you’ve just aided the decision on what to listen to this afty whilst I’m working.
    :)

  5. I have a little WordPress-type query… When people comment on posts I have put up, I get a little email message telling me so. Which is lovely. In such messages, it says who has commented – and it also includes their email address. Now, I don’t particularly mind any of you lot having my email address (I presume messages alerting of comments from me include mine – DsD?), but is this ‘safe’? Are we likely to be suddenly bombarded with spam? Or have our identities stolen?! I notice that Japanther seems to have disabled something so that comment alerts from him don’t include an email address. Any idea how to do this? And should we be doing so? I couldn’t seem to work it out by looking at my profile settings.

  6. Yes, I can see your email address on your comment, bish, but thinking it through, I don’t think we have a spamming problem.

Comments are only received in that (messy but) revealing format by the author of a thread, so as only authors accepted by The Spill Administrators can post threads, our addresses will only be revealed to someone we already know.

If you just click the ‘Notify me of any follow-up comments’ box on someone else’s thread, then I don’t think those emails include the address of the commenter, do they?
(I can’t tell at the moment, as I’m irritatingly up-to-date with emptying my Deleted Folder.)

  7. going back to mflow – it’ll be rubbish anyway.

everyone knows I find all the music first – LCD Soundsystem were always one step behind me… and if there was proof that I stole it from someone else..then there just wont be any incentive for me to carry on writing new songs for the up and coming talent… (I hide behind this idiot facade – don’t you know)

(don’t listen to that Blimpy fellow..never the first, always one step behind – - – - he is still AWOL, yeah?)

  8. @bishbosh – the reason you don’t get my address is because I haven’t officially signed up for WordPress yet – i’m still trying to think of a slightly new name. ANY IDEAS AND SUGGESTIONS ALL MOST GRATEFULLY RECEIVED!! – of course this means I can only comment and not post at the moment.

  9. mflow seem to be very parsimonious with their invites – I’m still waiting in line. Maybe DsD needs to let us know what the dress code is?

@JP – gotta be PantherSan, no?

  10. @ ghe – if you don’t mind me giving mflow your name and email address, I get to “invite” up to nine friends to join.

I won’t do it unless you say yes.

    Goodnight.

    Oh, and donds to PantherSan.

  11. @DsD – sorry for the delay, been abroad (I never fly, so Eurostar did the biz nicely…) anyhoo, yes I’d be grateful for one of your nine lives, I mean invites. (When I registered they said they’d send an invite ‘real soon now’ but it never happened.)

  12. @ ghe – invite sent. That’s my last action for the evening; I’m knackered and I want to be awake enough to stay up for the MFF tomorrow.

    Goodnight all.
